High Definition Brain SPECT Imaging

Emerging Applications

CereScan uses High Definition Brain SPECT Imaging to assist in the differential diagnosis of neuropsychiatric disorders. In addition to the traditional uses for brain SPECT imaging, research has demonstrated that disorders such as ADHD/ADD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Learning disorders and Autism can reveal specific blood flow patterns in the brain. A comprehensive clinical evaluation by the patients physician in conjunction with our high definition brain SPECT imaging can vividly demonstrate that many "psychiatric" conditions are actually caused by physiological brain dysfunction. Armed with this additional knowledge, physicians are better equipped to develop targeted, effective treatment plans, particularly for complex patients or those who appear to be refractory to medications.

Furthermore, patients
can "see" the physiological source of their own brain dysfunction after getting a SPECT scan, thus they feel less stigmatized by the "mental illness" label and are more willing to comply with treatment.
